Fine Arts

Classroom activities include general assignments that correlate with art history and conceptual information, open class structure where students choose their artistic direction, and collaborative work. Field trips are taken to local museums and galleries. Students are exposed to a wide range of artistic methods then guided to make personal choices for their own artistic expression. This allows students to gain an appreciation for the work of others and their contribution to society. Students gain an understanding of the diversity present in the art world and an appreciation of the role of art in society. Students are exposed to the artistic community and enter personal artwork in community exhibitions. The art room is an energetic and transforming space where respect for other ideas and work is encouraged.
