Counseling

Our school wide counseling program fosters positive relationships, trust, support, mutual respect and honest communication with components both inside and outside the classroom. Assets School boasts two full-time professional counselors that offer emotional support, behavioral support and peer mediation in a confidential setting. These counselors work closely with teachers, administrators and students to assist in optimizing student learning and social-emotional growth. Besides individual counseling with our counselors and teachers, Assets provides opportunities for group peer interaction.

Inside the classroom students are given occasions to discuss topics important to them to help stimulate self-reflection and allow them to learn about one another. For problem solving, students are able to voice their school-related predicaments and request from their peers possible solutions and strategies. All of our counseling services, both classroom-based activities and individual counseling services, serve to build community and allow students to get the most out of their education at Assets.
