Assets Facebook News Feed:

It’s Friday evening, March 10. You feel excited and a great sense of anticipation as you get ready to go to Assets’ annual gala event, Illumination: Lights! Camera! Action! You are feeling a bit festive so you slip into something that makes you feel Hollywood glamorous, a little black dress with red feather boa or a velvet jacket and silk tie. You are ready to party!

You make your way up the escalator. A group of our friendly high school students greet you with a smile. You see some of your favorite Assets teachers at registration and they get you through the check-in process with grace and ease.

You head toward the ballroom and are handed a glass of bubbly. You notice Kai, a high school senior playing acoustic guitar. You’re impressed; he’s quite talented! You see a crowd forming just beyond the ballroom doors and hear lots of laughter. It’s a red carpet photo booth. Guests are gathering around with their friends making lots of fun memories. You see your guests and you decide to jump in and get your photo taken with them. Why not?! It’s a party after all!

As you walk into the ballroom you see your photo projected on the big screen. You think, “I look good!” You laugh with your friends and you make your way to your table.

You pour your guests and yourself a glass of wine that you have selected from our “Board’s Cellar.” You and your guests check out the silent auction. You enjoy the unique offerings and the delicious food. Time flies and it’s time to sit down for the program.

You laugh, you cry, you remember why you love this school. You are inspired to do something special for an amazing school that does so much for students and their families and it feels great! You even raise your paddle for the private jet weekend excursion. Did you win?

By the end of the evening, you feel great! You can’t help but get up and dance to “I Will Survive.” Assets alum DJ Miko sure does know how to get people on their feet!

You linger. You enjoy the music, your friends, the great wine, and the good feeling of supporting Assets, a school that has meant so much in your life.

As you get ready to leave, you notice that check-out is as smooth and seamless as check-in. That was the most fun you’ve had in a long time. You leave with a smile ready to reserve your table for next year.

Buy your ticket now! You'll be so glad that you did!

Middle School teachers Linda Chang, Emily King, Patty Smith, Debra Warunek, Bernie Wu, and Hao Yang, and Dean Shanna Thompson welcomed students, parents, siblings, and kupuna to the lanai for a relaxing, enjoyable evening of food, bingo, and camaraderie! After dishing out pre- ordered pizza and hot dogs, participants paid $2 per card (some serious players managed up to 10!) and steeled themselves for “line bingo,” “four corner bingo,” “X bingo,” and “house bingo.” With three rounds of play, at least 12 lucky winners will walk away with prizes tonight! Proceeds from this evening will be applied to the middle school dance. Mahalo to everyone for making this a really fun event! ... See MoreSee Less
